SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

As part of the company’s commitment to providing accurate and reliable financial information and reporting, the Senior Accountant will provide oversight and direction for accounting transactions and processes, working with the broader finance team as well as other departments within the Company. The Senior Accountant will also ensure process improvements and promotion of new tools and techniques to further the department’s ability to meet its key objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

The above job description in no way states or implies these duties are the only duties performed by this employee.  The incumbent is expected to perform other related duties necessary for the effective operation of the department and company.

 

  • Produce business unit financial statements and management reports
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and support other month-end close processes
  • Prepare weekly A/R aging and cash receipt/balance reporting
  • Assist with invoicing reconciliation by customer
  • Calculate revenue recognition by project
  • Monthly revenue review with Account Services department, including review of variances to forecast
  • Monthly input of revenue with percent complete and manual JEs
  • Backup to the payroll processing semi-monthly (as needed)
  • Preparing payroll file to be updated into the G/L semi-monthly
  • Produce monthly time utilization reports for both US and European entities
  • Calculate payroll reclassification entries (overhead/cost of sales)
  • Produce quarterly commission calculations and statements
  • Set-up new customers into the G/L system (as needed)
  • Monthly review of final reconciliations by project produced by the Account Services department
  • Monthly analysis of expense variances from budget
  • Participate in external audit
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls
  • Ad hoc accounting projects as assigned
  • Assist with the development of policies, procedures and internal controls as requested

Education, Experience, and Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA certification required
  • Prior experience working in public accounting (ideally for a “Big 4” firm), strongly preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in public accounting, complimented as well by at least 2-3 years’ experience working in industry.
  • Must be very fluent in G/L software systems, as well as highly proficient in Excel

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Travel may be required based on business needs (domestically and internationally) and attend virtual programs outside of working hours as needed.
